William Carlton Painter, 78, passed away on June 29, 2021 in Southaven, Mississippi. Family will be receiving friends on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East Southaven, MS 38671). Interment will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens following service.

William C. Painter was born on January 19, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee. He enjoying fishing, golf, or any type of sports. William was inducted into Horn Lake Hall of Fame on June 2, 2018, which he was honored to. He was also a Mason for many years. Most of all William enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by the love he gave and will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Kathryn M. Painter; children, William Carlton Painter, Jr. (Melanie), James Wayne Painter, and Kelley Davis (Jimmy); grandchildren, Lauren Renee Grotewiel (William), Katie Sharp (Elliott), Caitlin Clark (Logan), Ian Painter, Brendan Painter, and Ross Painter (Jordan); great-grandchildren, Destiny, Avery, and William Grotewiel, Keaton and Emma Kate Sharp, Carter and Cash Clark, and Ella Kate Painter; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Bertrum and Irene Painter; sister, Barbara Fesmire, and brother, James B. Painter, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Jude (stjude.org).

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East Southaven, MS 38671). Interment will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens following service.

    Willie was an angel on earth. He helped everyone he knew and met. It did not matter what the need was he was always there to assist others. A kind soft spoken man with a heart of gold. I shall miss my dear cousin so very much. I am blessed to have known him and overjoyed that he was my family. He will be greatly missed. My prayers are with you Kathy and family. I will carry fond memories in my hear for evermore. My love to all.
